we took judge in for his 2 month check up yesterday, and everything went well.

we asked the doctor about the oxygen, and since he has consistently been at 100%, even with 1/8L of oxygen, she said we could try for him to sleep without it. last night, we kept the oxygen off, the monitor on, and not once did his alarm sound. i had to get up a few times with madi, and each time i would check on justin, his oxygen was at 100%. and because he is doing so well with the oxygen, we are also able to move him from the car-bed to his actual carseat... so much more convenient!

i asked about cereal, because this kid eats more than anyone could imagine, and she said we'd still have to wait til he is 4 months. it's gonna be a tough 2 months, but we'll hold off. he is already 15 lbs, 1 oz. i asked if there was anything else i could do about feeding him, cos i feel like all he does is eat, and she said he was fine at this point and could just be going through a growth spurt. he is so big. people don't believe me when i say he is only 2 months.

PT is coming out monday morning. it will be their first visit, so i am anxious to hear what they have to say. i wasn't too pleased with the therapist on the phone. she called at 9pm, had an attitude and gave me a hard time when i tried to arrange a more convenient time for us. i return to work on monday, and she wasn't willing to negotiate... but, i will still be able to go back to work, so it's not going to be too much of a problem, unless of course she brings the 'tude she had on the phone the other night.

all in all, justin is doing amazing. still in the clear for a shunt. obviously, we'll always be on the lookout, but it's a relief to see the progress he's made from day one. my lil man is a trooper!

  1. Aiden was the same way with eating. He was at 6 oz. at two weeks old...every 3-4 hours. It will start to stretch out between feedings soon....
